About the event
Our November meeting will be moved to Wednesday, November 4 for a special meeting held in the Virginia Room at Flagler College, co-hosted with Flagler College’s Lifelong Learning. In celebration of SAAA’s 40th anniversary, prior to the meeting, at 6:30, we will be having a celebration with light appetizers and wine, beer, and soda. Please note that the venue will be changed to the Virginia Room.
Dr. Deagan will be presenting, “St. Augustine Archaeology in Retrospect: How we evolved from 1930 to 2026”
St. Augustine has one of the longest histories of professional archaeological research in the country. From the 1930’s to the present day, dozens of individuals, agencies and organizations have undertaken archaeological programs intended to better understand St. Augustine’s past, and to preserve the tangible remnants of that past that have survived.
