Join us for this in-person event to hear Emily Jane Murray present "Ask Me About Lasers: 3D Applications in Archaeology."


Archaeologists are using 3D technology to document archaeological resources, from the smallest artifacts to entire sites and buildings. Techniques like terrestrial laser scanning, photogrammetry, and 3D printing can help us track changes to sites through time to understand impacts from climate change, transport people to hard to reach sites, and make privately held collections more accessible. Learn about the technology, how we document resources using it, and how this data helps us better understand and interpret the past!


Emily Jane Murray currently serves as the Public Archaeology Coordinator for the Florida Public Archaeology Network’s Northeast Regional Center. She earned a Master’s degree in Anthropology from Brandeis University and a Bachelors in Communications from Flagler College.
